Is Sota free?
Yes. Finding rivals, playing, ranks, trophies and your Sota Score are all free. Money matches are optional and coming later.
Do I have to bet money?
Never. Casual and ranked play are free. Stakes are a separate, opt-in mode for ID-verified adults, where it's legal.
How do you know who won?
For basketball, record the game and our camera AI counts the makes. For esports, we read results from the game's official data where it's available. Otherwise both players report, and the recording settles any dispute.
What's the difference between casual and ranked?
Casual is open to everyone and just for fun. Ranked counts toward your Elo and rank, and needs a quick ID check so everyone plays fair.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Add friends, challenge them directly, or team up for basketball from 2v2 to 5v5 and take on another squad.
When can I play?
We're opening early access in waves, on iPhone first. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when your spot is ready.
